WE are proud of the Hermannsburg hockey boys who were selected to represent the Umzinyathi U18 team at the Country Districts’ Tournament on March 23 to 25: Ayabonga Dlamini, Lungelo Ndelu and Philasande Zuma.

U15 cricketers played against Domino Servite School, making 58 all out in 17.1 overs (Neo Blackburn 12). Domino Servite replied with 59 for 3 off 10.5 overs (Benjamin Rabe 2/4) to win the match.

The co-ed swimming gala held at Treverton was unfortunately rained out, although Sonja de Wet and Lila de Wet placed third in the races they were able to swim before the rain became too heavy.

Our Mudman teams took to water, track and trail at Albert Falls to compete in the Epworth Mudman this past weekend. Twelve pupils participated in four teams, while two entered individual events.

HMB 1 (Jemma Hayward, Tegan Waller and Kirsten Rabe) was the first team in, followed by HMB 3 (Deryn Currin, Kei Blackburn and Nina Schmidt), HMB 4 (Mufhiwa Magoro, Ayabonga Dlamini and Siposethu Mabaso) and HMB 2 (Amy Whittle, Dasha Mohlala and Ivan Mohlala). Luka Poser and Siena Kimble entered as individuals in the 17 to 39 age category, and did really well considering they were competing above their age group.

Estelle Fouchè from Life at Stells Fitness (Greytown) led a group of our girls in “Pound Fitness”, introducing them to a new way of getting fit, last week. The girls loved the routines and we hope that this will become a regular way of getting fit. Thanks go to Estelle Fouchè for the session.

We are looking forward to meeting new parents and pupils seeking top-quality education, starting in Grade 8 in 2019, at this weekend’s High School Open Day. The day is from Saturday, March 10, to Sunday morning, March 11.
