RAKWEEK is here!

While Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) are by no means uncommon in Hermannsburg, this week sees our school focusing on all the good things that happen to us and that we can “pay forward”, from the kindergarten to the high school.

Whether it is helping someone carry something heavy, making someone a needed cup of coffee, making a new friend or even picking up after someone, we look forward to experiencing many positive contributions throughout RAK week.

Our Grade 10 pupils arrived safely in Germany, albeit after a long stopover to catch a connecting flight. “We may be taught all our subjects in English, but we can communicate in German too!” is the message that they have taken with them to Germa- ny.

Their four-week sojourn will immerse them in a continental culture and language — an unparalleled opportunity for personal growth and to gain a more global insight into the world around them.

Contacts forged during the Germany Exchange Programme can last a lifetime. Congratulations go to Awande Mbuli, who was selected for the U16 Country Districts hockey team.

She will play for the team in a tournament to be held during the July holidays.

Our first team hockey boys played Grace College and won 3-0.

As we gear up for the June examinations which start this Friday, we wish all our pupils sound memory and perfect recall for the week ahead — all the hard work they have put in will pay off!
