ALTHOUGH our school is affiliated with the Independent Schools’ Association of Southern Africa (ISASA), and offers the National Senior Certificate through the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) — which means that all our tuition takes place in English throughout the school — our school also belongs to a network of schools offering the German Language Diploma, or ‘DSD’ on all available levels.

A representative of our school was therefore invited to attend the World Congress of German Schools Abroad, which is held every four years.

Mr Witthöft, our deputy principal, attended the Congress and the workshops which took place in Berlin last week, gaining insight into international trends and challenges in education as well as quality management and monitoring in schools.

During the High School examinations, which ended on Monday, there were no sport fixtures but, before that, in their last 7’s rugby tournament (which included play-offs for final positions for the season), the first team ended their match against Reddam 12-22, placing eighth out of 11 schools.

The junior team ended the season fourth on the log.

We congratulate our teams on their achievements this season and on the growth they have shown in 7’s rugby.
