IT’S Open Day in our primary school this weekend!

On Saturday, July 28, from 9 am to 12 pm, parents and their children will have the ideal opportunity to see for themselves what our school can do for them, and what potential can be unlocked.

Please feel free to join us, whether you’re just curious or looking for a welcoming school for your child.

This week we welcomed back our pupils, especially the Grade 10s, who were in Germany for the last four weeks of last term.

It is good to see them all again and to continue working with them.

We also welcome Mrs Cheryl Ruthven, who will be teaching in the high school in Mrs Penny Waller’s place while she is on long leave, and Mrs Wendy James, who has taken on the task of housemother in the senior girls’ boarding establishment.

We trust that they will soon feel at home in the Hermannsburg family.

During the holiday, on Mandela Day, Hermannsburg’s Emma Reibeling and Keryn du Preez visited the eNhlanhleni Crèche, which our school has enjoyed supporting for many years.

They had fun teaching the children some new games, and took turns in looking after the youngest little one at the crèche.

Thanks to Mrs Stella Cockburn, ex-pupil and former member of our staff, crayons, colouring-in books and treats were taken along for the children, purchased with money donated by some of the Hermannsburg pupils earlier during the year.

We look forward to a term filled with a variety of activities and events — come and see our stand at the Greytown Creative Fair this Sunday, July 29, to find out more about our school — from Kindergarten to Grade 12 — and to talk to us about your child’s future.
