EXCITEMENT ran high as the grade sevens left for the airport on Sunday, reaching fever pitch as they waited to board the airplane for Cape Town where they will be spending the week learning about our country’s heritage and taking in the sights.

The grade one to six pupils are also enjoying their annual camp this week, accompanied by their teachers, as they experience a variety of activities and learn more about the world in which we live.

On Saturday, our primary school athletes took to field and track for the Umvoti Athletics Meeting, hosted in Hermannsburg, competing against Deutsche Schule Durban, Wartburg and Greytown.

We congratulate victrix ludorum Anna Schulze (DSD) and victor ludorum Siyanda Ngubane (Greytown).

Greytown took first place overall, followed by Deutsche Schule Durban.

Well done to all the athletes and their coaches, and thank you to our parents and teachers who worked behind the scenes and as officials.

We really enjoyed having a wonderful group of grade six and seven pupils and their parents visiting Hermannsburg for the open day and sleep-over this past weekend.

They learned a lot about our school, meeting some of our teachers and boarders, and participated in a variety of activities including some short lessons, a hike around the school dam, and a “veld fliek” (where they got to sing along), before sitting for the placement tests for 2019.

We look forward to working with them in the future.
