CONGRATULATIONS to all the swimmers who participated in the recent inter-house gala.

The awards ceremony was held last Friday and a big well done goes to Keryn du Preez (Girls’ U10 Champion), Shaakirah Ebrahim (Girls’ U12 Champion), Matthew du Preez (Boys’ U12 Champion), Liam Uys (Boys’ U13 Champion and Primary School Victor Ludorum), Shaakirah Ebrahim and Keryn du Preez (sharing the Primary School Victrix Ludorum), Carolina Hoffmann (Girls’ U14 Champion), Phakade Mqadi (Boys’ U14 Champion), Cebo Mzila (Boys’ U15 Champion), Nicola Ortmann (Girls’ U15 Champion), Sonja de Wet (Girls’ U16 Champion and Senior Victrix Ludorum), Michael Nell (Boys’ U16 Champion), Lydia Köhne (Girls’ U19 Champion), and Jarmin Claassen (Boys’ U19 Champion) who shared the Senior Victor Ludorum with Michael Nell.

Thank you again to all the supporters and parents who cheered the swimmers on.

This week the school once again celebrates “RAKweek” — random acts of kindness week — where pupils and teachers remind themselves and each other of how important kindness is in their lives.

Whether we are kind to others, or whether we receive the kindness from others, it makes each day a little bit brighter and enriches our lives both in the giving and in the receiving.

While this is, of course, not restricted to one week of the year, this week is for us to focus on what kindness is and how we can pass it on to others around us.
