WITH the traditional Karneval (carnival) cry, “Helau”, Hermannsburg pupils celebrated the traditional German form of carnival.

Pupils came dressed up in colourful costumes and were showered with sweets from the carnival trailer, driven by Mr Rainer Kassier.

The best-dressed pupils from the kindergarten, primary school and high school won wonderful German treats and German cakes were for sale.

It was a day of fun, fun, fun.

We extend a big thank you to the German Department for organising this special event, and to Mr Kassier for giving up so willingly of his time to drive the carnival float.
