IF you research the history of the Christmas tree on the internet, you will find many different explanations, but they all share a common thread — the tree is seen as a sign of hope and new life.

Many legends and stories give Germany the credit for starting the Christmas tree tradition.

One story goes as follows:

In 1536 the protestant reformer, Martin Luther, was walking home near Wittenberg one winter’s night, when he saw the sparkle of stars shining through the evergreen trees along the way.

This reminded him of the starry sky from where the Saviour came and so he set up a fir-tree in his house and put candles on its branches to recapture the scene.

But whatever story or legend is true, our Little Oaks had lots of fun creating their own, wonderful Christmas tree. May the bright lights of Christmas and the festive season bring happiness in your life and fill your home with peace, joy and love.

We wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
