GRADE 10 pupils and teachers from Maqhinga High School gathered with Umvoti Aids Centre staff for the commemoration of Human Rights Day and the graduation ceremony for Grade 10 pupils.

These pupils had completed peer education modules around "my body, my life and my choice", a programme designed by Umvoti Aids Centre and aimed at the youth. Pupils Nyameka Mbono from Action Aid South Africa, Miss Sphindile Mzila from Community Safety and Liaison,

Umvoti Aids Centre spokesperson said: “We would like to give a special thank you to our sponsors who made this day a success, the Sexual Reproductive Health Rights team, Starfish, National Lottery, the Eshane community and teachers for allowing this event to take place in their community.

“This programme is about choices affecting teenage life, drug and substance abuse and teenage pregnancy with an aim of helping these individuals make informed decision about what is happening in the outside world and changes affecting their bodies."
