MEMBERS of the Ngubane family gathered last weekend for the unveiling of the tombstone of Alderman Titus Ngubane who died on 13 October, 201I.

The Greytown Gazette announced his death stating: “Although short in stature he stood tall among his fellows as highlighted by the enormous number of tributes pouring in for the late Titus Ngubane at the age of 72.”

As a popular teacher, Titus was renowned for changing the vandalised and run-down Dolo High School into one of the top schools in the district.

Titus, a staunch member of the ANC, served as a councillor for many years and was involved in the amalgamation of Greytown and Enhlalakahle. He was appointed deputy-mayor in 1994 and the Greytown Mayor in 1996 after the first democratic elections.
He filled this position with dignity earning the respect of all.
