UMVOTI Animal Hospital will be hosting a Christmas Craft Market on Saturday, December 8, from 8.30 am to 1 pm at 220 Durban Street, together with our Whiskers and Wagtails Jumble Sale.

The stalls are very varied and crafters from around the area will be selling both edible and creative goodies, ideal for Christmas gifts and décor.

There will be tea and coffee available so that shoppers can sit and relax in the festive atmosphere after browsing the stalls.

In the front of the clinic we will be running our usual jumble sale, raising money for our Whiskers and Wagtails Fund.

This venture has been running now for two years and has benefitted many animals from the Umvoti area.

Our jumble sales have been one of the main methods of fundraising, done monthly or bi-monthly, and have become very popular with the locals.

People are able to drop off jumble items such as kitchenware, clothing, curtains, bedding, towels, and bric-a-brac.

We have had some really lovely, and sometimes unusual, items donated, which makes the sale an interesting place to rummage around.

Various raffles have also assisted the fund and our annual Christmas cake raffle is currently underway — and is proving to be very popular, as always.

Second-hand books are also now being sold at the practice throughout the month.

An awesome team of volunteers work tirelessly at each jumble sale and in-between making items, and the food stalls have been a real hit for people wanting to support us but who are just looking for a delicious lunch or cupcakes for afternoon tea.

All income generated is held by an independent treasurer and cases are carefully screened in terms of financial assistance needed.

The fund has really enabled the hospital to treat many patients in desperate need, so please come support this worthy event and be a part of the solution to our area's current animals in-need crisis.
