JOY was written all over the faces of management, the staff and pupils as they received 20 new computers and three laptops last Wednesday.

The school offers computer lessons to pupils from Grade 1 to Grade 7 as part of extracurriculum activities. This exercise had not been effective since resources were limited.

It was for this reason Mrs D.M. Sithole-Majola, HOD for intermediate phase, decided to ask for help. The initiative paid off when Roger Bentley the head of ICT from Land Bank (in Cape Town), gave the computers to the school.

“I am happy that the school can now teach computer skills with confidence as this gives pupils the power to face all challenges, world-wide,” said Sithole-Majola.

Principal Mrs Mngadi thanked Land Bank for its generosity and help in promoting a culture of teaching and learning at the school. She said teachers and pupils are going to benefit equally in this infrastructure.

She also thanked Mrs Sithole-Majola for her initiative. - H.W. Dube.
