Join the worthwhile Mandela Day project

2017-07-12 06:00

ON 18 July there will be the 5th annual
eMdlovana Mandela Day programme at
Nhlalakahle, where Project Republic personnel and others will be refurbishing and reconstructing the mud home of an elderly underprivileged and disadvantaged family whose house is crumbling and on the verge of collapse.

Unfortunately, they are not the legal occupants of the plot of land and as such a permanent structure cannot be constructed thereon.

The only alternative remedy and urgent intervention is to restore and revamp their mud house seeing that there is no other available alternative accommodation for them to be relocated to while waiting for their already approved RDP house to be built.

Project Republic and Councillor Vukani Njoko, who have together undertaken this project, need support in terms of human power and building supplies such as structural timber and logs, roof sheeting, two door frames and two wooden doors, nails and paint, two window frames with glass, putty and any other relevant materials.

The organisers of this very worthwhile and fitting Mandela project said: “We are appealing to the community of Umvoti to assist us in our endeavour to make life better for the others. If some of you have old supplies or second-hand equipment you do not use, kindly donate them to our project.”

Those interested in partaking, donating or sponsoring, must contact Dumi Mdluli on 060 997 2703, Vukani Sibisi on 082 612 9696 or email projectsrepublic@gmail.com
