MINI HOCKEY

THE Grade 1 and Grade 2 hockey girls from various primary schools in Greytown took part in a hockey tournament in Wartburg on April 16. The girls played very well and with great enthusiasm.

Grade 1 results:

Greytown Junior won by 1-0, defeating Wartburg 2 Primary

Greytown Junior lost 2-1 to Wartburg 2 Primary

Greytown Junior played a draw 0-0 with New Hanover Primary.

Grade 2 results:

Greytown Junior won 1-0, defeating Wartburg 1 Primary

Greytown Junior Primary drew 0-0 with New Hanover Primary

Greytown Junior Primary won 1-0, defeating Wartburg 2 Primary

Greytown Junior Primary drew 1-1 with Domino Servite Primary

U13 Hockey

The U13 hockey girls took part in a hockey tournament at Wartburg Primary on April 27. Two teams took part in the tournament. The girls played very well, showing great enthusiasm and team spirit.

The U13 hockey girls took part in the Day/Night hockey festival at New Hanover on May 3. The girls played very well and showed great team work. The girls drew two games, lost two and won two.

U13 NETBALL

The U13 girls played and lost their first game against Drakensview. They showed great potential and perseverance. We still have a long way to go but their coaches are proud of their effort and manner. Thank you to all the supporters.

RUGBY

Greytown Junior Primary attended a rugby festival hosted by Wembley College on April 27. Greytown fielded two sides. Both sides played well and gained much-needed experience.

The scores were as follows:

Greytown U13 Side A

Greytown A won 27-10 against Wembley

Greytown A won 21-19 against Winterton Primary

Greytown U13 Side B

Greytown B won 22-17 against Wembley

Greytown B lost 10-21 to Winterton Primary

U11 Rugby

Greytown Junior fielded two full sides. Although the players lost both games, they gained much-needed experience.

U13 Rugby

The U13 side travelled to Estcourt on Thursday, May 2 to play against Drakensview Primary. Greytown scored first, and Drakensview scored in the 21st minute. The second half saw both sides applying pressure, leaving the final score at 5-5.

Greytown Junior’s U13 side played against Piet Retief. Piet Retief scored first and in the second half Greytown scored and converted, leaving the end score 7-5 in Greytown Junior’s favour. Well done to the players.

U11 Rugby

The U11 Rugby side played against Drakensview. Both sides played well, with the final score 10-15 in Drakensview’s favour.

Greytown Junior travelled to Pieter­maritzburg and played against Piet Retief Primary. Greytown won 10-0. Well done to the boys.
