HOCKEY

Congratulations to the following girls from various Greytown primary schools: Ezinhle Ximba, Princess Zuma, Luleko Nala, Zikhona Ndlovu, Kuhlekonke Mkhize, Thembekile Khubeka, Andiswa Myaka and Yumna Hattia. These girls were selected to represent the uMzinyathi Hockey District at the Inland Trials in Pietermaritzburg recently.

These girls made Greytown Junior School very proud.

The U13 hockey girls played against Drakensview on May 15. The girls played an amazing game, showing great team work and dedication. The end score was a 6-0 win for Greytown Junior. Well done girls.

The U11 hockey girls played a match against Drakensview on Wednesday. The girls did well and won their game 1-0.

MINI HOCKEY

On May 14 the Grade 1 and Grade 2 hockey girls took part in a hockey tournament at New Hanover. The girls played very well and showed great enthusiasm. The results were as follows:

Grade 1

Greytown Junior Primary vs St John’s Primary 1 — won 2-0

Greytown Junior Primary vs St John’s 2 Primary — won 3-0

Greytown Junior Primary vs Wartburg Primary — lost 2-0

Grade 2

Greytown Junior Primary vs St John’s 1 Primary — won 4-0

Greytown Junior Primary vs Domino Servite School — won 2-0

Greytown Junior vs Wembley College — won 1-0

NETBALL

Greytown Junior School played against Piet Retief on May 14. The U10 side lost their match with the final score being 2-0 in Piet Retief’s favour.

The U11 side ended the match 7-7 while the U13 side lost their match with the final score being 1-2 in Piet Retief’s favour.

MINI RUGBY

On Wednesday, May 15, Greytown Junior hosted a mini rugby tournament. Both our Grade 1 and Grade 2 sides played well.

The scores were as follows:

Grade 1

Greytown Junior Primary vs Kammaland Primary — won 40-5

Greytown Junior Primary vs New Hanover Primary — won 30-20

Grade 2

Greytown Junior Primary vs New Hanover Primary — won 35-5

Greytown Junior Primary vs Kammaland Primary — won 45-5.
