UMVOTI Aids Centre hosted Karate Grading on Sunday, August 25.

A grade is a measure of the level of attainment of a karate student. Each grade is signified by a different coloured belt, starting with the white belt and progressing to black.

The purpose of grading is to encourage, promote and improve the art of karate; to allow students to be able to measure their progress in karate; allow instructors to measure progress of their students; to honour those who have attained specified levels of competence; and to constitute a valid measurement on a national and international scale. Grading was performed by Sensei Sibonelo Mkhize, who was assisted by Senpai Lungisani Mabaso. For more information please contact Umvoti Aids Centre at 033 413 245/6 or Senpai Lungisani Mabaso at 072 153 0301. — Supplied.
