UMVOTI Aids Centre commemorated World Aids Day on December 1 in multifaceted style.

This is such a special day to bring love, hope and faith to those affected and infected with HIV/Aids, while raising the need to empower everyone in the fight against HIV/Aids.

It was happy shared day, which included a graduation ceremony for the youngsters who had completed the IT Literacy and Numeracy programme, sponsored by the Anglican Church.

Four groups, each with six pupils, were awarded certificates for completing the computer course.

Over 140 children enjoyed their Christmas party which was geared for the centre’s local beneficiaries.

Each child was given a a Christmas gift, sponsored lucky packets, sponsored cooked meals and a variety of games were played.

The day was completed by the lighting of candles in honour of World Aids Day by stakeholders and partners.

Umvoti Aids Centre thanks the Department of Agriculture, Department of Health, Department of Safety and Liaison, Cogta and Councillor Vukani Njoko Sibisi, all of whom expressed words of encouragement to community members and children present.

The centre also expressed its appreciation to sponsors Build it, Honchos, Min Cash, National Lottery, Anglican Church, Umvoti Fuel & Oil and Department of Social Development for their support.
