A MAN (36) appeared at the Greytown Magistrate’s court for possession of drugs recently. The suspect, who has yet to plead, was arrested at the tavern in Greytown after the police found him in possession of Mandrax tablets. According to the Greytown SAPS, members of the Crime Prevention unit were conducting crime prevention operations in Greytown when they received information about a man carrying a bag at the tavern. The police approached the suspect and asked to search his bag. Upon searching, they found two plastic bags containing more than 200 tablets of Mandrax. The matter was transferred to New Prison in Pietermaritzburg for investigation.
