A LOCAL Maskandi music group promised to return to the music industry with new flavour this December.

Ama NUM Maskandi Group was formed at Matimatolo in 2012. The founders of the group; Mondli Mngoma, Lindani Gasa, and Mbongelwa Mhlongo; met in 2009 while they were all working for recording company Abafana bakaNsele.

In 2012, the group released a CD with 10 songs but, due to financial constraints and poor support from the community, the members quit the music industry.

“We want to remind our supporters that we are still in the music industry.

“In December this year we are going to release a CD with 12 songs. The tittle of the new CD is Uxamu ugeje umgodi.

“We are a breakaway group from Abafana bakaNsele. We decided to form our own maskandi group due to the high number of young and upcoming artists who were joining Abafana bakaNsele.

“We would like to appeal to the members of the community and our supporters to continue supporting us this year. We promise to come with a new flavour that will hit the maskandi industry.

“We are representing Greytown and our aim is to grow in the music industry,” Mngoma said.

Supporters can visit the Facebook page Ama NUM Maskandi Group or, for further details, contact Mngoma at 081 8267783 or Mhlongo at 084 412 9595.
