Meet Sithu — new GM at Umvoti Aids Centre

2018-03-14 06:01

COOL, calm and collected is the immediate impression one receives on meeting Sithu Mchunu for the first time in her new position as general manager of the Umvoti Aids Centre.

She has close links to Greytown, having attended Tholinhlahla Primary School and Greytown High School when her parents moved here in 1989.

Her mother was born in Greytown and her father in Keates Drift.

Sithu started her working career in retail banking with FNB Greytown, Pietermaritzburg and Ixopo.

Her abilities and efficiency were soon recognised and over eight years she was promoted from typist to managing customers and service staff.

Moving up and on, she performed the accounting and finance function at Centrafin in Midrand for two years, then joined Umvoti Aids Centre as finance manager just over a year ago.

In 2011, Sithu obtained her B.Com degree and is now studying for B.Com honours through Unisa.

On the personal side, Sithu enjoys cooking and reading, and being the proud mother of a three-year-old son who has just started school in Grade RRR.
She is a born-again believer who loves to praise and worship and believes “a Godly nurtured human spirit is a powerful force with unlimited capabilities”.
