A MOTHER and her two children had a miraculous escape from serious injury when a run-away truck crashed through their house landing on top of the bed on which the three were lying.
The tragedy occurred last Wednesday, 10 November on a road about 10 kilometres past the Ntunjambili Hospital turn-off in the Kranskop area.
According to a report from Alert Emergency Medical Services, which was called to the accident, the driver of a fully laden truck lost control of his vehicle on the pass.
The truck careened off the road, over a slight hill and hit the house where the mother and her two children were lying down in the bedroom.
The vehicle smashed through the bedroom, coming to a stop on top of the bed on which the three were resting.
The Alert spokesperson said that miraculously, although three people were injured, they survived.
The driver sustained a leg wound, the mother a head trauma and a young girl an injury to her right arm.
The two children on the bed were unharmed.
