THE Department of Health in Greytown Hospital held Pregnancy Awareness Day recently.

The purpose of the day was to create awareness on the importance of taking care of a baby during pregnancy.

The department told mothers about the importance of booking antenatal care visits at clinic, eating a nutritious diet, breastfeeding exclusively, and the benefits of breastfeeding.

According to the department, recent reports show that some mothers-to-be tend to procrastinate their visit to clinics during their first or second months of pregnancy, and they are encouraged to visit the clinic more often.

Antenatal care is the care you get from health professionals during a pregnancy.
