MOUNT Ernestina school celebrated “mother-tongue language” last Friday.

At the school, Zulu is the mother-tongue language of about 98% of the pupils and on the day, the pupils performed various activities in their mother tongue, such as reciting poetry, singing, presenting idioms, and explaining traditional ceremonies, food and clothing. Traditional dishes were prepared and enjoyed by staff members.

The school thanks Miss F.N. Biyela and the school library committee for a very successful event.
