LAST week was busy as usual at Mount Ernestina Combined School.

On Wednesday, grades four to seven traveled to Durban for their end of the year excursion.

Their first stop was King Shaka International Airport, where they were taken on a tour by friendly airport workers.

They were taught about safety, checking in and prohibited items when boarding an airplane.

Lastly, they were taken to see airplanes landing and taking off.

From the airport, they went to Gateway Theatre of Shopping, Durban Harbor, and the beach.

On Friday, a career simulation day for grade seven pupils was held at the school. It is part of term three work to participate in this event.

On the day, all grade seven pupils dressed according to their future careers of choice.

There were many future professionals, such as doctors, teachers, nurses, police officers, accountants, engineers etc.

Professionals from Eskom, Umvoti Municipality, Standard Bank, and the Department of Health and Education were invited to do presentations on their careers.

After formalities, lunch was served. School management, SUB and teachers thanked every one who made an event successful.
