LAST week was a busy one at Mount Ernestina Combined School.

On Thursday, Grade R, Grade 1 and Grade 2 pupils spent their 67 minutes cleaning the school in celebration of Mandela Day, filling 25 bags with trash. They enjoyed joining the world in celebration of a world icon, Nelson Mandela, who had soft spot for children and encouraged people to be educated.

On Friday, 13 pupils participated in the Umvoti Circuit Management Centre (CMC) Cross Country selections, held in Greytown at King Edward Park. Four of them were selected to a CMC team to participate at a district level at the beginning of August. The pupils were Phelelani Dlamini, Menzi Mzolo, Phelelani Tshapha, and Owethu Khumalo. The school management, teachers and school governing body wishes them all the best at the district level. — Supplied.
