THE fifth edition of the Msinga Driftkhana car spinning event is on 29 October.

The event takes place annually in Mpelankani Msinga in Transport Month and promotes road safety and the employment of safety measures by drivers, who enjoy the sport, supported by the Department of Transport KZN.

A media launch was hosted last Friday at SMG Durban, which is one of the event partners that have supported the event for the past few years.

The media was addressed by Kate Clohessy of SMG Durban, as well as Manqoba Bhengu, a representative of the KZN Department of Sport and Recreation, who is also one of the sponsors of the event.

Saturday 29 October is the main event, with stunt drivers from all corners of the country, including world-renowned stunt driver, Brian Capper.

Other drivers include Magesh, Eddie Rasta, Lefe Lentja and others. After the main event is an after-party featuring DJ Bongz, DJ Siyanda, Zakwe, DJ Merlon, Mondli Ngcobo, Junior D Rocker and more.

This is all takes place in the state-of-the-art facility at Mphelankani Msinga, which has a lounge and restaurant as well as a pavilion overlooking the pit where the car spinning takes place. The venue is secure with state-of-the-art security features.

The weekend spectacle ends with a Sunday picnic wind-down session featuring local musical acts and promising a relaxed day of sundowners and great company.

General access tickets range from R50 for children under the age of 12 to R100 for adults and R500 for VIP, available at the venue. A private lounge option is available for R1 500 and a suite for a maximum of 20 people is R15 000 and those bookings can be made by contacting Qiniso Mabaso on 082 319 3444.
