UMVOTI Aids Centre joined forces with the outreach team from the Department of Health Greytown in a collaborated effort in delivering health education to the pupils of Muden Secondary on February 13, during the STI and Condom Week.

Pupils benefited from reproductive health rights, education and awareness, HIV/Aids education, condom use, demonstration and distribution and Sexually Transmitted Infections education.

The aim behind education and awareness is to drive youth behaviour away from risky activities that expose them to HIV infection, STIs and unplanned pregnancy.

These collaborative efforts are key in the reduction of risk behaviours in high risk population and the adoption of protective behaviours including abstinence as well as increased accurate knowledge of HIV/Aids transmissions and the gravity of the problems they can potentially cause.
