THE second term is always busy on the sporting front, and the beginning of term has certainly lived up to that reputation at NHP.

On Saturday 22 April we hosted a hockey and rugby coaching clinic at school for girls and boys respectively. This was a great opportunity for our children to shake off the holiday cobwebs, and brush up on their basic skills and techniques prior to their first matches.

The clinic was followed by our traditional moms and daughter’s hockey and dads and lads tag-rugby matches. This is always a highlight for the children and parents alike. This was followed by our annual inter-schools cross- country, which was held on Friday 28 April.

With more than 200 runners participating, the NHP course is a firm favourite as it is true cross-country running through out beautiful surrounding farmland. True to our area the children were each given a stick of sugar cane at the end of the event.

Another highlight for our boys was the tag-rugby festival which took place on Friday 5 May. It was wonderful to have a number of schools supporting this event, and the boys thoroughly enjoyed they this fast-paced format of the game.
