THE U16 rugby team played a very interesting match against the Sarel Cilliers team, with many lessons learnt, but unfortunately lost 26 – 5.

The try scorer was Spehphelo Nyathikazi.

Saturday saw the mighty elephants of Greytown take on the Lions of Glencoe.

In what started as an even contest, the Greytown team piled on the pressure but could not convert. The failure to convert pressure into points gave the Sarel Cilliers team a lifeline when an error from Greytown gave them a chance to convert.

The boys from Greytown didn’t give up and were given a penalty 10 m in the opposition’s half. Fly-half Stembele Zuma happily converted the long-range penalty.

With the hot weather, a water break was needed and all concentration was lost by Greytown.

Tactical errors were made and Sarel Cilliers stretched the lead, with the end score being 40 – 8 with Mtondi Ndou scoring the only try for Greytown.

The 1st team hockey squad was divided into two teams to take on Dundee High and Sarel Cilliers.

Team 1 drew 1-1 with Dundee, with Zethethelo Dlamini scoring Greytown’s goal, and lost 2 -0 to Sarel Cilliers.

Team 2 lost 2- 0 to Dundee and 3-1 to Sarel Cilliers with Siyamthanda Mvauso scoring the only goal.

In their first pre-season netball match, Greytown High School’s 1st team showed resilience when they faced off against Sarel Cilliers’ 1st team.

The match proved to be entertaining and informative, allowing coaches to identify areas of improvement before the season begins. Greytown lost 26-12.

Greytown would like to thank the coaches and players of Sarel’s first team for their excellent sportsmanship.

We look forward to facing you again during our in-season matches.
