News from the hill

THE season officially kicked-off for Greytown High School first 15 with a home game against old rivals Eshowe High.

Boasting a pre-season win-loss ratio four wins and three loses, the boys were determined to produce magic in their new kit sponsored by Johan and Steven Wilken from Face First Media.

Greytown took to the field on a mission to put God first and then the school, families and then themselves.

After a slow start of feeling each other out, Eshowe put the first points on the board but Greytown was not to be outdone and went into the break inspired by captain Scelo Gumbi and vice-captain Yenziwe Zuma putting their team in the lead.

Scelo had to come off due to cramping and Mnqobi Ntanzi took on the mammoth task of leading the forwards along with his senior loose trio combination of Bonginkosi Mtolo, Lwandile Zaca and Lunga Ndlovu.

Tackles and cleaning kept improving, Mvelo Zondi dotted down under the poles, Mlondi Ntanzi soon after and Lesiko Sopotela sealed the impressive 31-12 victory to set up an unbeaten season.

Try scorers: Scelo Gumbi, Liseko Sopotela, Mlondi Ntanzi, Mvelo Zondi, Yenziwe Zuma and conversions by Sthembele Zuma and Mutondi Ndou.

Thanks and appreciation goes firstly to the Lord almighty for the talent and ability to play the game, the school's SMT under the leadership of J.P. Scholtz and Face First Media for the unwavering support and sponsorship to the school.
