HOCKEY

THE last match of the season for the first hockey team took place on June 1 against Voortrekker High on our home ground.

It was a tough match, with both sides fighting for a win. Voortrekker managed to score a goal and Greytown High refused another — their defence making sure no ball crossed the line again.

With Greytown not managing to get any shots at the goal to break through the Voortrekker defence, the game ended 0–1 in Voortrekker’s favour.

Our appreciation to all the supporters, sponsors, and umpires who assisted throughout the season.

We appreciate each cheer, each cent sponsored, and each whistle of correction.

All the best to the Grade 12’s leaving. We hope your future in hockey will go from strength to strength.

Also, congratulations and all the best to Sphesihle Khubeka for the U15B KZN Inland Tournament and Emily Raw and Sandiswe Ntuli for the fundraising and trip to the Netherlands. — Supplied.
