THE MODELLING industry is growing fast, with the youth showing great interest in the fashion-centric field.

Nompumelelo Cele (29), from the eNtembisweni area in Greytown, is looking for an agency to assist her in moulding her talent in modelling.

After completing her matric at Candabuthule High School in 2007, Cele started looking for a modelling agency around KwaZulu-Natal, but all her attempts proved to be unsuccessful. She is now asking South Africans to help her find a modelling company.

Cele told the Gazette:“I think it’s probably my love of fashion that inspired me to pursue modelling. I am prepared to do modelling full time, all I need is to find a modelling agency that will help me in sharpening my skills.”

Cele said she is determined to take the modelling industry by storm through her raw talent and beauty. She believes that girls from rural areas are talented, they just need help developing their skill.

“I enjoy writing love novels and poems. In the next five years to come, I want to see myself owning a modelling agency and unearthing local talent among the youth in my community.

“I believe that there are many talented young people in the Greytown area. I would like to encourage them to work hard. They must work hard to accomplish their dreams,” Cele said.

The Greytown Gazette contacted Irene Olivier, the owner of Pietermaritzburg-based Irene’s Models, which has been running for 34 years, for comment.

Olivier said; “We are willing to assist wherever we can, she must contact us or come to our offices.

“If she is successful, she will do training with us,” Olivier said.
