Petrol to cost more

2017-11-22 06:00

A WARNING that travelling in the December holidays will be more expensive with a sharp increase in the price of fuel next month.

The Automobile Association has forecast an increase of 74 cent per litre and diesel 63 cents.

An AA spokesman said: “The rand is testing one-year lows against the U.S. dollar.

In addition, there have been heavy increases in international oil prices.

“Concerns over government’s fiscal discipline are likely to continue weighing heavily on the rand, and if these factors combine with continued oil strength, South Africans will face heavy fuel price hikes for the remainder of 2017 and into early 2018.”
