THE Kyokushin Karate Academy is an internationally and nationally registered karate academy based in Greytown. The team wishes to appeal to the community for sponsorship to assist karatekas who will be participating in the 2019 International Youth and IFT Karate Tournament, being held from April 17 to April 25 in Tokyo, Japan.

The Kyokushin Karate Academy students have done well in the tournament hosted by the Academy as all its students are going to the next level. Kindly assist our team of karate pundits to attend the tournament to make them shine and make their dream come true.

The team consists of six fighters and one member of the technical management team.

THE ACADEMY REQUIRES FUNDING FOR THE FOLLOWING:

1. Return Flights trip to Japan for seven people — R105 000

2. Accommodation for eight days for seven people — R 27 000

3. Tournament entry fee (fighting fee) for seven people — R14 000

4. Ichi Geki Original Karate Suits and Sport Equipment — R12 078.90

5. Meals and local transport for seven people — R6 189

The total amount required is R164 267.90.

The 2018 KZN Provincial Junior tournament was held in Greytown on April 7, 2018, hosted by uMvoti Karate Academy, under UMzinyathi District Municipality and Umvoti Local Municipality.

Umvoti Karate pundits won 13 trophies and became best winner of the tournament, receiving an award for this accomplishment.

The tournament had 256 participants from all over KZN and it was an honour to host this tournament for our youth.

Out of the number of participants at the tournament, we had 58 winners that are forming a team of KZN to participate in Cape Town to represent KZN Karate at the All African International tournament and South African Tournament.

Umzinyathi (Umvoti Karate Academy) had 17 karate pundits selected to represent KZN in both categories in Cape Town.
