BHEKI Phakathi was honoured with a posthumous MEC award at the prestigious KZN 2018 Sports Awards, held on September 25 at the Durban ICC.

Bheki, a nationally renowned coach, had coached the Umvoti FC for two years when he was tragically killed in a car accident on April 28 of this year.

At the time of his death, he was busy preparing his team to compete in the National First Division promotional play off.

He was a highly respected player and rated a top coach in the country.
