Premier’s imbizo in Muden tomorrow

2018-01-24 06:00

THERE will be much activity in Muden tomorrow as KZN Premier Willies Mchunu and members of his cabinet conduct an imbizo in Ward 11 from 9 am at the Enyonini Embabhanoyni sports ground.

The community will be given the opportunity to raise matters of concern for consideration and action from the relevant departments with the province’s top officials there to listen to the community.

Muden community’s Zimbambelini spokesperson Jeffrey Nogbese said the area has fallen behind in the provision of service delivery and infrastructure.

Although land has been transferred successfully people are without skills to manage and run the land productively; illiteracy is on the increase – a FET college would empower the people with required skills.

“The government has achieved a lot in the area with the acquisition of land - Muden clinic - due to be opened officially as well as the Zimbambelini skills centre, basic service, although it is not easy to find a tap with running water, electricity and sanitation.

But there is a long list of further requirements to improve the quality of life of all members of the Muden community and Mr Ngobese expressed the hope “that the premier will listen as he always does and make commitments, not promises, on behalf of KwaZulu-Natal government.”
