Prompt arrests of armed robbers

THREE armed robbers were arrested the day after they had raided a Laatz Street residence last Tuesday afternoon, then later in the day, Mays Furnisher in Okes Street.

Field Security received a panic
signal from the furniture shop just after 4pm.

The three robbers had taken cellphones and cash - the police were notified and a case opened.

Working on information received Field Security personnel set up a “trap “ in Bell Street and the three were spotted and arrested.

A firearm, cellphone and a pepper spray were found in their possession.

expressed his thanks to Warrant Officers Steyn and Sithole for their assistance.

The three, who are from Msinga, but live in Tent Town, appeared in Greytown Magistrate’s Court and were remanded in custody.
