THE New Hanover Preparatory School Grade 5 class recently went on an outing to the Harden Heights Nursery where Ralph Appelt taught the class about wattle cultivation from start to finish. The children learnt how to collect seeds; observed the process from soil mixture through to the six months in the nursery; saw the saplings in the plantation; learnt about weeds and threats; and, finally, they were taught how to debark a tree. What a wonderful and informative outing it was.

After a busy morning of learning, the class enjoyed lunch at the Woodlands Dam.
