PUPILS from Wembley College visited the Greytown Feeding Project to hand over gifts to the needy people of Greytown recently.

The chairperson of the Greytown Feeding Scheme, Dayaram Aheer, said: “We gave the children a very special treat. Wembley College came forward to give the children presents, stationery and eats.

“Every year, different groups come and offer their services to the Greytown Feeding Project, which has been in operation since 2002. I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been part of the project since its inception.

“We wish everyone a merry Christmas and the best for the new year.

“We are feeding over 250 people at a time. Please feel free to visit and offer your helping hand,” said Aheer.

The principal of Wembley College, Dederick Swart, said: “It should be compulsory for all schools to do community outreach programmes. Pupils are learning something and giving something back to their community. Each class member must do a community outreach programme.”
