VARIOUS sporting codes from Kwelifuphi Primary School successfully hosted the Amathuli Cluster Tournament recently.

This tournament saw teams from Kwelifuphi, Zwelinjani, Sbongile, Amathuli, Bulawayo, and Inqolayolwazi lock horns in soccer, netball and volleyball.

Sbongile Primary beat the hosts 3-2 in the netball final, while Amathuli beat Sbongile 1-0. The volleyball trophy went to Bulawayo, who beat Kwelifuphi 2-1 in the final.

All runners-up went home with silver medals, while winners took home trophies and gold medals from sponsor Sbongiseni Sibiya of Community Watch Policing (CWP).

Happy Xulu said: “The great success of the tournament is owed to Sibiya, whose help saw players getting accolades for the first time.”

Xulu thanked all the participating schools, organising committee, the principal from Kwelifuphi, and staff for a day well spent. The chairperson of the organising committee, T.N. Mzobe, announced that the tournament will be hosted by Sbongile Primary next year. — Supplied.
