Rabies alert

2018-02-28 06:01

OVER the past few months, a number of dogs and meerkats in the Greytown surrounds have been positively identified as rabid.

An appeal is made, particularly to residents in the rural areas, to be alert and to contact the nearest veterinarian or the Department of Agriculture for advice.

Any human, bitten or scratched by a rabid animal, must seek medical attention immediately.

A more detailed report will be published in next week’s Greytown Gazette.
