Reach for a Dream — Slip on a slipper

OVER 60 000 children with life-threatening illnesses, have had smiles brought to their faces, through the Reach for a Dream Foundation.

Since 1988, the foundation has been assisting toddlers through to teens to combat the gravity of a serious illness by making dreams come true.

A surprise birthday party, a helicopter ride, a visit to the sea, shopping spree — no matter how big or small the dream is, it offers the child a magical moment to regain childhood being lost to a life threatening disease.The main fund-raiser for Reach for a Dream, which is on May 11, is wear slippers all day — to work — to the office.

To be part of Slipper Day — please purchase a special wristband from Wimpy or Pick ‘n Pay. On Friday, May 11 anyone wearing slippers and the wristband will receive a free coffee at Wimpy! Slipper Day started as a fund-raiser in KZN in 2011 and was so successful that it expanded nationwide.
