Rehabilitation in the works

2019-07-31 06:00

FOLLOWING an article that was published on the front page of the Gazette last week titled “Greytown historical building in shambles”, the national Public Works and Infrastructure Department have indicated that various departments have shown interest in the building. Media liaison officer Thamsanqa Mchunu said: “The property has been identified by the Department of Labour for their Greytown offices. Our technical unit has been requested to undertake the analysis of the cost estimate involved in rehabilitating the property. Different departments have been showing interest but ending up not taking occupation.

“The department is aware that the building is vacant and has started the process of appointing security to guard the property until the renovation project commences.”
