RESIDENTS of kwaGqugquma and a team of volunteers, in partnership with a local farmer, painted Senzosabasha Secondary School recently.

Teachers, members of the school governing body, members of the CPW and pupils took part in the initiative. The local farmer who gave a donation, Dennis Kaiser, said: “We are a neighbouring farm [to the school]. They approached us for a donation as the government is not assisting them,” Kaiser said.

School principal Chwepheshe Ngidi thanked Kaiser for the more than 15 containers of paints and tools.

According to Ngidi, the school has an enrolment of less than 60 pupils.

“Pupils have been reluctant to come to our school because we are small, with five classrooms. We hope the enrolment will grow as the school gets a new look,” he said.
