Schulfest at Hermannsburg

2017-05-10 06:01

IT is that time of the year again - the autumn colours are beautiful, the balmy days are followed by chilly evenings, and all that goes towards making Hermannsburg the place to be for the weekend of Schulfest, coming up on 19 to 21 May - a whole weekend of festivities, a super-sized Schulfest.

The main focus of events will remain on the Saturday with the usual popular stalls and attractions for all our faithful ‘'old" and "new" Schulfest followers.

On Friday evening a braai and bonfire will be hosted for former pupils and all who might like to join us for a relaxed evening around the fire.

Don't miss this year's programme for Saturday, which will be filled with exciting sporting events to watch - hockey and 7s rugby, and all the little children will be happy to know they will be able to choose from a number of exciting games and competitions at the children's games arena.

A variety of eats will be on sale while there will be traditional meats to take home (meat sale starts at 12pm, remember the cooler box) and the bar will be serving drinks to wash down the delicious meals.

The tea garden and Kaffeestube will be serving tea and coffee and traditional cakes and Torten to delight your taste buds.

The early birds will be able to watch hockey on Saturday morning while munching a breakfast roll, and most stalls will open at 10am, with lunch being served a bit later.

An interesting variety of craft-market stalls will have homemade goodies on sale, and the setting offers lots of opportunities to sit around and unwind with friends and family.

Join us on Saturday evening for roasts on the spit.

An early worship service will be held on Sunday (at the sports field, lapha), followed by breakfast, which will round off a superb weekend of former pupils, friends and family enjoying time-out, reconnecting and savouring good company.
