THE community of Msinga welcomed the opening of Nyunyana Primary, the second school to open in the area recently thanks to the KZN Department of Education.

MEC Mthandeni Dlungwana opened the new school on February 19.

In his speech, Dlungwana said he was happy as Nyunyana was the second school opened in Msinga within a short period of time.

“This shows that the people of the Pomeroy and Msinga areas will benefit from developement. As KZN government, we are proud to see schools in rural areas and to have schools that are well developed in rural areas,” Dlungwana said.

The school has a multi-purpose centre, computer room, toilets, and nine new classrooms.

“We have employed qualified teachers for the school to make sure that they will be able to teach our children,” Dlungwana added.

He urged the community of Msinga to take ownership of the school and ensure that no-one vandalises the school.
