LETCEE visited some of their projects in the outskirts of Greytown on Thursday, June 13. Lectcee is a non-profit organisation working around the communities within Umvoti area. Visitors had an opportunity to see playgrounds, nutritious programmes, toy libraries and veggie gardens in action. The Little Elephant Training Centre for Early Education (Lectcee) is an early childhood development non-profit organisation. Lectcee works in impoverished, rural communities of Umvoti where unemployment is high.

The NGO’s vision is for every child to develop and grow in a caring community.

The NGO also runs toy libraries that provide play and learning resources to the children. Children attend playgroups at the toy libraries. There are mobile toy libraries that offer the same services to the children in communities.

Lectcee also do parent training to improve the knowledge and skills.
