St Cathryn’s news

2016-04-13 06:00

ST Cathryn's members are reminded that this coming Saturday and Sunday we will be playing the Tuta Carriers Club Championship.

Tee-off is from 11am on Saturday and Sunday. We tee off from 8am. We will be accommodating a special request by two of our members to play both rounds on Sunday due to prior other family commitments. For members travelling from afar we will also make accommodation available.

To wet golfers’ appetites a visiting golfer from Princes Grant, Frans Straus, the teaching professional there, set a high standard for golf here at St Cathryn's over the weekend - Frans playing off a scratch handicap.

His card read as follows - "out 33 in 32 total 65" this score included a Albatross on the par five, 16th hole. He used a driver and five iron - only two clubs for two shots on a par 5.

Pin placing will have six easy pin positions and six medium, and then six eish positions, so practice, chip, run and relax before this big golf competition.

This coming Friday we will be closed due to a private function, and visitors are invited to come and chat with the clubhouse leader on Saturday night when we will have a bring and braai.
