St Cathryn’s news

THE Farmers’ Agri-Care Monthly Mug on Saturday 15 October drew a good field, with above-average players recorded.

Members and visitors from Greytown, Kloof, Richards Bay, Richmond and Pietermaritzburg were in the field, as well as our faithful locals.

With the large number of players, it was easier to supply one or two more prizes and the three ladies in the field had to contend for the longest drive prize, this added to the already generous meat hamper prizes, thanks to our sponsors, Farmers Agri-Care.

Thanks to all the support received and as usual all support is much appreciated.

Selection for the St Cathryn's Plennegy teams for this week's KZNGU inter-club has a combination of youth, experience and good tactical players in the sides. Three sides were selected, two compete in the Frog division and one team in the senior Frog division.

Frog 1: Dieter Meyer, Deon van Wyk and Lawrence Savage.

Frog 2: Brent Barkhuizen, Darrin Manser and Jarryd Manser.

Senior Frog: Zane Padoa, Neill Manser and Piet Nel.

Players to watch for individuals are players Lawrence, Deon and Neill, who have all been on the winners podium at least once this year.

Captain Brent Barkhuizen will be collecting trophies on behalf of the club and Dieter Meyer is the manager.

Liekie Steyn has teamed up with Cato Ridge to also take part in the Ladies KZNLGA inter-club and their tournament starts on Thursday, while the men leave on Thursday to acclimatise to South Coast conditions, with the tournament starting on Friday. We wish all players a happy time away and good golf.

We have done some spring treatment on greens 1 to 10 and 9 to 18 and at the moment the two-putt rule is in play.

To book for golf, contact Cathy on 082 555 2661.
