FORREST Hills Sports Club’s golfing section, called “Bunkers” stayed and played at St Cathryn’s over the weekend.

They booked out all the accommodation and had their practice round on Saturday with the formal competition played on Sunday March 5.

It was a second trip to St Cathryn’s and many were surprised to see how the course has matured and the changes that have been made. The 6th hole, Par 5, stroke one was voted the prettiest hole on the course.


1st Tyrone Pierrot 37 points. 2nd Mike Wilson 31 points oco. 3rd Eddie Smythe oco. 4th Andrew Asquith and 5th Craig Pitt.

The wives that accompanied their husbands cycled the MTB track and thoroughly enjoyed the route.

A reminder to members to make note of the following changes to the golfing calendar:

The Farmers’ Agri-Care Monthly Mug has moved to the same weekend as the Tuta Carriers club champs - March 18 and 19. The dual course Arcadia Golf Day at St Cathryn’s and Greytown’s courses and that the tournament is on Saturday April1 at St Cathryn’s and April 2 in Greytown.

The St Cathryn’s Classic is to be played on April 29 and this competition is our main fund-raiser for our club.

The format being a Better ball with a cost of R300 per player.

Supper this Friday will be macaroni cheese and salad.
